Bras can make or break an outfit.
What if on date nights and summer days, you plan to put on a gorgeous backless dress but you cant find the right bra to go with it? You’ve also probably had your fair share of outfit changes because who wants their bra wings and hooks showing? Yup, it’s quite unsightly.
Luckily, I found this video from Ray Lee. I was amazed at how she turned her old bra into a backless bra! It’s so easy to do and it brings life back to old bras sitting at the back of our undergarment drawers.
Here’s what you’ll need to start:
- old bra (choose the one with underwire, molded cups, and adjustable straps)
- sewing pin
Once you’ve got these ready, you’ll only need to do 3 simple steps to create your own DIY backless bra: cut, measure, and sew.
Remove the bra wings/panel. Cut close to the side of the cups and cut the end of the straps attached to the wings.
Get the ends of the strap (the one originally connected to the wings) and pin it at the bottom of the cups. Put it on to see if it fits nicely and adjust accordingly.
No need for major sewing skills here! Get your needle and thread and start sewing to attach the straps in place.
That’s it! You’ve just created a cheaper, DIY alternative for store-bought backless bras and one with that provides a better support than stick-on cups.
